May Mayhem & Summer Spark

So… where to begin?

My oldest and their boyfriend moved home from college for the summer. Within 24 hours: Covid. So while they quarantined, I suddenly found myself piggie-sitting their guinea pigs and watching my parents’ dog. (If you’re picturing a small zoo, you’re not wrong.)

Thankfully, their symptoms were super mild. Once they were back on their feet, we tackled a major project: transforming our basement into their summer sanctuary. We ripped up carpet, laid flooring, patched and painted walls (so much painting), and made the space actually feel like theirs.

All this in six straight days.
Then I ran a market, bought furniture, and spent an entire Saturday purging our garage.
Honestly… I need a nap just typing that.

Also happening: milestone season!

My middle child had prom and is graduating high school.
My youngest is headed to sleepaway camp for 6 weeks this summer.
And somehow my oldest is going to be a college senior next year.

When did that happen?

Everything feels a little chaotic but also kind of magical. There’s change in the air, and while it’s bittersweet, I’m also excited for what’s next — for all of us.

Creative chaos = the good kind ✨

In between all that life stuff, I led a watercolor butterfly workshop (peek the pics below!) and I’m sketching out some new class ideas for summer.

Got something you’ve always wanted to learn to paint?
Reply to this blog post and tell me! I love creating classes based on what you’re curious about.

✍️ What’s Coming Up

upcoming in person events for Meghann Lynne Designs

Plus! A new summer paint class is coming soon — still deciding on the theme, but stay tuned.

You can also check out my updated Etsy shop — I’ve added a discount on cards when you buy 3, because sending a little joy should be easy (and cute).

Thanks for sticking with me through the whirlwind. More soon — hopefully with fewer paint fumes and more butterflies.
